Global Health Alum Transforms Cambodian River Waste into Sustainable Fashion
Alyssa Erin Kardos Loera (NHS’21) credits her Georgetown experience with preparing her for her current role as CEO of ReMade in Cambodia, which she founded while serving as a Fulbright English teaching assistant in that country. Working with local young designers, the enterprise collects and then transforms textile river waste into sustainable wearable products.

Record Number of Students Share Research at Annual Undergraduate Research Conference

School of Health Students Practice Community-Led Approach to Health With Alaska Natives

This fall, Alaina Anderson (H’24) and Seareen Maaita (H’24), both studying global health, took this theory with them while interning for 15 weeks with the Alaska Native Tribal Health Consortium.

Global Health Student’s Interest in Migrant Health Motivated by Personal Experiences
Receiving the David F. Andretta Summer Research Fellowship gave Iman Ibrahim (H’24), a global health major with a minor in Arabic, the opportunity to spend five weeks in Turkey working on a project titled “Medicine and Migration: Understanding Operational and Social Challenges to Service Delivery and Healthcare Decision-Making for Syrian Migrants in Turkey.”
