The Office of Sponsored Research (OSR) is the Georgetown University Medical Center (GUMC) office for:

  • Review and submission of applications to research sponsors 
  • Receipt of sponsored research awards
  • Negotiation and execution of sponsored research agreements
  • Sponsored research account setup, maintenance and closeout

Doreen Robinson, Ph.D., CRA, is the Director of Research Development Services (RDS) and the Office of Sponsored Research (OSR) and has overall responsibility for sponsored research activities, outreach and coordination at the Georgetown University Medical Center.

Trudy Bright plays an integral role in operations management and coordination including proposal submission,  establishment of sponsored research spending accounts, negotiation of sponsored research agreements and coordination with GUMC administrative offices, departments and outside institutions.

Manuel Corday has primary responsibility for Medical Center reporting and grants and contracts systems administration, including TRACS, STARS, PACTS and the OSR Georgetown BOX. He also serves as the Senior Grants & Contracts Specialist for the School of Nursing & Health Sciences (SNHS),  Lung Biology Laboratory, Protein Information Resource (PIR) and the Georgetown Center for Innovation.

John Bustillos, the OSR Pre-award Office Manager, has primary responsibility for GUMC internal proposal package review submitted through GU PASS (10 days prior to submission deadline) and electronic submission of finalized applications to sponsors (5 days prior to submission deadline).

Serena Ody is responsible for entering proposal budget data into Georgetown's financial system (GMS) and provides administrative support in the OSR Pre-award office.

Clairice Lloyd, CRA, is responsible for Medical Center program project proposals and awards, including the Cancer Center Support Grant (CCSG), Georgetown-Howard Universities Center for Clinical and Translational Science (GHUCCTS), Prostate, Lung, Colorectal, and Ovarian (PLCO) Cancer Screening, and the Women's Interagency HIV Study (WIHS), as well as the Neurology Basic Science Department. Programs and departments served by Ms. Lloyd are directed to contact Trudy Bright (202-687-1227, brightt@georgetown.edu) in Ms. Lloyd's absence.
