June 12, 2017 — After breast cancer patients undergo treatment, many are prescribed drugs to kill remaining cancer cells. But if the cells become resistant to the drug, patients are at increased risk of recurrence. As an assistant professor focused on breast cancer research, Ayesha Shajahan-Haq, PhD, is working to develop drugs that will help breast cancer survivors stay healthy.
