Service Day Connects New Medical to Students to Community
Every fall, incoming Georgetown University medical students have the chance to give back to the community before classes even begin. This year, 85 students volunteered for the annual Service Day where they provided community service to five D.C.-area organizations.

For New Students, White Coat Ceremony Marks Portal to Medical Profession
The White Coat Ceremony is an annual tradition that marks the official start of a medical student’s career. This year, 196 students hailing from 30 states, the District of Columbia and six countries outside the U.S. donned the coat, followed by recitation of the Hippocratic oath.

Med Students Connect with DC Homeless Youth Through Sports Camp
Demonstrating that community outreach and service to others can be fun as well as fulfilling, 20 first- and second-year Georgetown medical students hosted a weeklong camp July 28-Aug. 1 for nearly 50 homeless children from Washington, D.C.
