Laura Anderko Provides Health Care Pros Tips on Staying Healthy
October 30, 2009
Public health nurse Laura Anderko, PhD, RN, the Robert and Kathleen Scanlon Chair in Values Based Health Care at NHS, tells The Washington Post how health care professionals stay healthy. The story also appeared in a recent edition of The Houston Chronicle and Sarasota Herald Tribune.
Anderko's tips include: washing your hands, keeping surfaces clean, drinking plenty of fluids and taking appropriate medication when sick. When Anderko came down with a cold, she immediately took zinc and ate oranges to build up Vitamin C.
"I have a bowl of oranges in the office. I was eating them nonstop when I thought I was coming down with something," she told The Washington Post.
