Yalda Jabbarpour Addresses Diabetes Management to the Arlington South Lion's Club

Yalda Jabbarpour, a resident in the Department of Family Medicine, was a speaker for the Arlington South Lion’s Club on Tuesday, Oct. 20., in Arlington, Va. Jabbarpour’s presentation addressed the management of diabetes.

In her presentation to members of the club, Jabbarpour identified preventative actions people can take to avoid complications from diabetes, such as getting enough exercise. She also discussed treatment protocols for the disease and recent research findings in diabetes-related studies.

“We’re excited [Yalda] shared her presentation that taught our group about the latest advancements in the treatment and prevention of diabetes,” said Tom Barnes, program chair of the Arlington South Lion’s Club. “It’s important to exercise, exercise, and exercise!”

The mission of the Lion’s Club is to empower volunteers to serve their communities, meet humanitarian needs, encourage peace and promote international understanding. Currently, there are 1.3 millions Lion’s Club members worldwide.
