Davidson Tells About.com the Reasons for the Increase in Thyroid Cancer Rate

About.com recently interviewed Georgetown’s Bruce Davidson, professor and chairman of otolaryngology, about the results of a study outlining the rise of thyroid cancer in both men and women. According to the study, an estimated 37,200 new cases of thyroid cancer will be diagnosed next year. “Now, we know that better detection is not the only factor, and that we need to investigate other factors that may be causing the increased rate of thyroid cancer,” explained Davidson.
