Selanikio Tells CNN.com about his Efforts at the Crossroads of Technology and Public Health

Joel Selanikio, assistant professor of pediatrics, was quoted in an article on CNN.com which addressed the rise of the mobile phone as a tool in efforts to improve public health. Selanikio discussed his own efforts in developing EpiSurveyor, a survey program that can be downloaded onto a mobile phone which aids the collection of health information.

"Collecting data on paper and then taking two years to enter the data is a tremendous drain and barrier to good public health," Selanikio told CNN.com.
