Advantages of Sharing Cancer Test Results Probed by GUMC Researchers

HealthDay covered newly published research from investigators at GUMC which considered the impact of parents sharing the results of their cancer testing with their children. The researchers determined that sharing the results engendered a stronger parent-child relationship based on openness. The story was also covered by U.S. News & World Report – online, Yahoo! "Children growing up in families surrounded by cancer can be worried about whether cancer may happen to them someday. Cancer genetic tests provide a piece of that information,” lead investigator Kenneth Tercyak, associate professor of oncology, told HealthDay.
