Jordan Receives Prestigious Award

May 6, 2009

V. Craig Jordan, incoming scientific director and vice chairman of the Department of Oncology, has earned a top award in the United Kingdom.

The Academy of Medical Sciences announced the election of Jordan as a Fellow. Only forty physicians and researchers were selected in the process. The Academy of Medical Sciences fellows are tapped for outstanding contributions to the advancement of medical science, for innovative application of scientific knowledge, and for their conspicuous service to healthcare.

"Our new Fellows illustrate the wealth of experience and diversity of talent amongst the UK's research community," said Professor Sir John Bell, president of the Academy which elected Jordan.

Recently, Jordan was also elected to the National Academy of Sciences, one of the highest honors given to a scientist or engineer.
