The Washington Post Speaks to Turner about Seniors and Mental Activity
February 4, 2009
Scott Turner, director of the memory disorders program, commented on research into the benefits of mental activity for staving off cognitive decline in seniors for an article in The Washington Post. “There are no large studies that are well controlled and independently funded indicating this," Turner told The Washington Post. However, he recommends taking part in mentally stimulating activities because “it probably will not hurt them. It's especially good if it's a social activity that gets them interacting with others.”
