Marshall Discusses Steve Jobs’ Illness

February 3, 2009

John Marshall, chief of hematology and oncology, was interviewed by both The Washington Post and on National Public Radio about the latest release concerning Apple CEO Steve Jobs’ health. Jobs’ recent weight loss was explained as resulting from a “hormone imbalance” and the news outlets spoke to Marshall about what condition that might result from. Marshall speculated that a possible return of pancreatic cancer, which Jobs’ once suffered from, could result in a hormone imbalance.

“The return of the [pancreatic] cancer [Jobs was previously treated for] could cause a hormone imbalance,” Marshall told The Washington Post.
