Fugh-Berman Research Cited by USA Today

An academic paper written by Adriane Fugh-Berman, associate professor of physiology & biophysics, and a colleague was cited in a USA Today article discussing the possible dangers associated with off-label use of anti-psychotic drugs.

According to USA Today, “a paper [co-written by Fugh-Berman] posted last month by the online journal PLoS Medicine, [asserts that] industry-paid ‘nationally known, influential academic physicians’ help create ‘buzz’ about off-label uses by writing about them for publication or presentation at scientific meetings.”
