Ellen Badger Named New GUMC Update Editor

April 22, 2008

As the spring semester is winding down for many of you, my time at GUMC is just starting up. This marks my first issue as editor of the GUMC Update, and I’m thrilled to join the Medical Center. Previously, I worked at the Main Campus Office of Communications where I assisted with media relations and first fell in love with the Hilltop.

Last May, I received a Bachelor of Arts degree in Communications from the University of Southern California in Los Angeles. Before I moved to Washington in August, I held several internships in journalism and public relations, including assisting on ABC’s "Good Morning America" and working at GolinHarris Los Angeles.

When I have time, I enjoy traveling, both domestically and abroad, and reading up on current events. I recently returned from a medical service trip to Guatemala with my father, who is a family practice physician. I’m excited to expand on my knowledge of medicine and health care within the academic context of GUMC, and I look forward to working with you all in the weeks ahead to keep our community informed of the latest news around the Medical Center. Feel free to contact me at the GUMC Office of Communications at eb293@georgetown.edu or 202-687-5100.
