Phobias Can be Overcome

Fears develop from natural impulses, but people can develop phobias when their fears get out of control. Fortunately, phobias can be overcome through cognitive behavioral therapy, Brian Doyle, clinical professor of psychiatry, told reporters from Forbes.com. This involves leading the patient to confront the phobia in a gradual way. There are also some medications that can provide relief from phobias, said Doyle.
