Completion of an IDP is recommended as a ‘best practice’ career development tool, providing a platform for discussion between Advisors and advisees.

Through our Office of Faculty and Academic Affairs (OFAA) we have many resources, programs, and opportunities to support your faculty position, and to help you to become accomplished, productive, and successful in your chosen areas of endeavor, including teaching, research, service, and clinical care.

As noted on our home page, the OFAA provides new faculty orientation, works with Department Chairs and the Committee on Appointments and Promotions on issues related to faculty appointment and advancement, facilitates faculty mentoring, provides centralized resources for annual faculty evaluations, develops programs and workshops, and coordinates and disseminates information about resources and opportunities to support the career development of faculty members, fellows and trainees at Georgetown University Medical Center.
