The Georgetown Community
A local television advertisement claims that
Washington is the most important city in the free world. More relevent is that Washington is an exciting but livable city. Georgetown University and Georgetown University Hospital are situated in a pleasant upscale neighborhood within walking distance of afforable rental housing. Abundant parks, jogging, and biking trails exist thanks to your federal tax dollars. Since the hospital is located on the main campus, a collegiate academic atmosphere pervades. The Yates Field House, with its pool, indoor/outdoor tennis courts, and racquetball courts, is 200 yards from the hospital. The facility is heavily used (after working hours!) by the residents and faculty. Washington is a great sports town, which offers the Capitals, Wizards, Mystics, Redskins, ACC, and Big East college basketball. Cultural events are abundant, thanks to the Smithsonian Institutions, The Kennedy Center, and a variety of theaters, galleries, and music clubs.
