Georgetown to Host Second Annual Pediatrics Gala

Washington, D.C. — The second annual Georgetown Pediatrics Gala will take place on Saturday, March 3 at 6 pm at the Washington Monarch Hotel at 2401 M Street NW. Proceeds will benefit two programs run by Georgetown’s Pediatrics Department: the Teens in Recovery program, which provides substance abuse education to teens and parents, and the Anti-Violence program, which works with local schools and communities to promote positive social behavior among youth.

At the event, gala organizers will present the "Flame of Hope" award to Georgetown University president Leo J. O’Donovan, S.J. The award is given annually to an individual or organization that has improved the quality of life of children in the Washington area. The evening will begin with a silent auction and cocktail reception at 6 pm; dinner, dancing and presentation of the award will follow at 8 pm. Tickets for the black-tie optional gala are $200. For more information or to purchase tickets, call 202-784-9353.
